Clarinet
Peter Holt
I have played the clarinet since 2004. I went to piano lessons as a child but when I got married and had a family time was too short and the piano was neglected. All our 3 children played instruments and when I retired from work in 2002 we had a clarinet in the house and I started playing, having found a very good teacher in Peter Hepplewhite (our tenor saxophone player). With his encouragement I joined the band and I very much enjoy playing. Outside of the band I am an adviser at the Citizen's Advice Bureau in Newcastle, I help Northumberland Wildlife Trust with conservation work on their nature reserves and I am a warden at Weetslade country park north of Newcastle. With playing/practising for the band, golf and 3 voluntary jobs, life is becoming hectic again (but I wouldn't have it any other way!).
